St. Margaret’s House periodically seeks qualified applicants for potential tenancy in the future by re-opening the waiting list.
When the waiting list re-opens, a pre-application form will be made available to interested applicants, who can submit a completed form to a post office box number listed on the form. After the submission deadline, 200 pre-application forms will be selected by lottery to be placed on the waiting list. The benefits of limiting the number of applications are to increase the frequency of re-opening the waiting list and to assure applicants of a shorter waiting period.
At the time of the lottery, applicants must be: i) elderly persons age 62 and older or ii) disabled mobility-impaired persons age 18 and older who need the special design features of our apartments, to be eligible.
In addition, income, household size and additional criteria as per HUD guidelines are considered for eligibility to qualify for an apartment.
